Deputy Mayor for Culture, Education, Healthcare and Social Affairs

Ing. Martin Soukup

Born on October 26, 1965 in Hořice. Since 1971 permanent resident of Hradec Králové. Graduated from the University of Economics in Prague, Faculty of Economics and Public Administration. He started his professional career in 1988 in the company Czech and Moravian Stone Industry, later on he became a Head of Financial Department in the joint-stock company Galex. Since 1993 he occupied different managers‘ position in private companies in the field of hire purchase, installment selling and consumers‘ credit. In 1997 he was among the initiators of a database of dodgers. In 1999 he co-established a SOLUS association which aims on consumer’s protection. A member of the Civic Democratic Party since 1997. First elected as a Deputy Mayor in 2002. Re-elected in 2006. In his leisure time he enjoys various recreational sports activities and being with his family.
