Opportunities for investors
For international personnel Arnhem offers a well equiped International School (primary and secundary).
The advantages to select Arnhem for investments are diversity and quality of available business sites, the strategic location and accessibility, high education and language skills of the workforce, and a variety of hotel and conference facilities. Arnhem is planning to establish a World Trade Center (WTC) in the centre of the city and will offer international entrepreneurs a high quality business environment.
Other specific characteristics
Arnhem is a varied “green city” where people like to live, work and recreate.
Popular are the elegant historical residential areas north of the Rhine river, but also the architectural designed housing projects south of the Rhine.
The beautiful city parks (Sonsbeek) and the largest National Park in the vicinity of the city are testimonials of Arnhem’s status “Green City”.
Cultural relics and monuments
The John Frost City Bridge over the Rhine river played a cruxial role during the 2nd World War (Battle of Arnhem, 1944). Although a major part of the city centre was destroyed during the war, there are still many relics and monuments in and around the city to visit. The Eusebius Tower is open for public and a elevator will bring you to the top to overview the “green city”, the Rhine river and bridges.
Sports possibilities
All kinds of sports are popular amongst the Arnhem youth (unfortunately there is no Ice Hockey)
The Gelredome is the multi-functional football-stadium and (music)theatre. Home of Vitesse, the Arnhem football club in the Dutch top league.
Tourism
Tourism is playing a key role in the economy of Arnhem and surroundings. Large-scale amusement parks north of the city, such as the Dutch Open Air Museum (www.openluchtmuseum.nl), the famous Zoo (www.burgerszoo.nl), and the Kröller-Müller Museum with many paintings of Vincent van Gogh (www.kmm.nl), will bring many visitors to Arnhem
every year.
Infrastructure and accessibility
The strategic position of the Arnhem region between the Randstad (Amsterdam/Rotterdam area) and the European hinterland (German Ruhr area) is and will be very profitable in the future.
The new architectural railway station (under construction) offers already high speed train connections to Amsterdam and Frankfurt.
The most important motorway A 12 passes Arnhem at the City border and there is easy access to the international airports of Schiphol/Amsterdam as well as Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf Airport and Airport Weeze).
