Zbyněk Hejda declared a honorary citizen of Hradec Králové
The City Board of Hradec Králové awarded honorary citizenship to Zbyněk Hejda, a poet, writer and laureate of the
Jaroslav Seifert Award. He was born on the 2 nd of February 1930 in Hradec Králové, where he graduated from
the grammar school then he left for Prague to study philosophy and history. Zbyněk Hejda, a signatory to the Charter
77, is considered to be one of the most outstanding post-war poets and writers.
