Hradec Králové Cultural and Educational Company (HKVS) with the support of the City of Hradec Králové has
been preparing the traditional New Year´s celebration for its citizens.
The celebration will start on Saturday on the 1st January at 3 p. m. by projecting news-reel Hradec Králové 2010 in the art cinema Centrál, where the visitors will be offered hot tea and rum-tea.Then it continues on the Large Square. At 4:30 p. m. the renaissance trombone quartet will play the introductory flourish on the balcony of the city hall. The visitors will certainly enjoy not only the noble tunes of the brass but also hot tea, rum-tea and delicious lentil soup. At 6 p. m. the finale of the celebration programme on the 1st of January will be presented by New Year´s fireworks as a part of the project of „Pyromusical – New Year with Rock“. The overall atmosphere of the New Year´s celebration will be created by light effects accompanied by sound effects of the most famous melodic motives of the Finish rock group Nightwish. Thus the complete, unique, multimedial and modern rock show can be viewed as an art work.
On New Year´s Day free parking will be available in localities with parking automats (Gayerovy Barracks, ice-stadium, Orlické and Eliščino Embankment). Municipal transport from housing estates will be intensified from 4 p. m. to 8 p. m. We kindly ask citizens to be more tolerant of traffic restrictions on Large Square from 5 p. m. to 7 p. m.
