Since the mid-January passengers will be allowed to pay fare in Hradec Králové public transport by mobile phone.
They can choose from two types of fare – a short-term 45-minute ticket for 18 CZK and one-day ticket for 55 CZK.
The service will be provided by Materna Communications.
Hradec Králové will join other cities where it is possible to pay fare by SMS. The new service is a modern alternative to existing forms of payment, such as city card, free card and paper ticket. In some time paper tickets are to be replaced by SMS ticket.
„The ticket can be ordered and paid by Premium SMS, which is the service people know from various consumer SMS competitions and TV voting. Similarly, people can pay for parking at parking meters in Hradec Králové“, explained Miloslav Kulich, director of Hradec Králové Public Transport Company.
