On the 10th Novemeber 2010 Mr. Otakar Divisek, mayor of the city, resigned his office in compliance with the Act on
Municipal Establishment and measures directing performance of his office till the new mayor is elected. He made this
step with regard to his duties in the new job.
Owing to the results of the newly elected City Board meeting held on the 9th November 2010, the statutory powers of mayor have been exercised by the current deputy mayor, Mr. Josef Malíř.
As well as the other deputy mayors and the city council have exercised their powers so far. The agenda of the current city council´s meeting held on the 16th November 2010 consists of items concerning the council´s powers that can not be postponed for time or other serious reasons.
