A highly qualified workforce and relatively low wage costs in comparison with other regions in the Czech Republic are characteristic of the region of Hradec Králové, which is, as a result, a very advantageous and attractive place for investment. In 2005, the average gross wage in the district of Hradec Králové amounted to 18,453 CZK.
The highest average wages were those of employees in the branch of electric power, gas, and water production and distribution, and in the branch of real estate and leasing in the first half of 2005.
